Living in Denver West and Lakewood

Lakewood, Colorado’s third largest city, has become a hub of activity in the West Denver Metro area. The popular downtown Belmar area provides a pedestrian friendly setting where people can casually stroll, shop and dine. Lakewood alone has more than 80 parks, with fishing lakes, biking and hiking trails and scenic mountain views. The historic city of Golden was originally a mining camp, and today is a bustling city with over 18,000 residents, classic mountain architecture and popular destinations. It is home to the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra, the Foothills Art Center and Heritage Square Music Hall. Arvada’s downtown has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places and provides an eclectic shopping and dining experience. The city is also home to the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, one of the largest multi-disciplinary art and cultural centers in the country.

All of the cities and towns that comprise Denver West take pride in their small town feel, with quiet neighborhoods, family friendly environments and a strong sense of community. For people who want to live outside the city, and enjoy more open spaces and nature, but still have easy access to the urban core, Denver West is an idyllic setting.
