Bamboo Sushi Opens in LoHi

There’s no lack of sushi in LoHi with the recent addition of Bamboo Sushi.

Sandwiched between Recess and Postino, the super cool restaurant joins Sushi Ronin, which recently opened a second location in RiNo, Mizu Izakaya and long-time favoriate Sushi Sasa.

Bamboo Sushi has a great happy hour from 5pm to 6pm daily. The restaurant’s wines by the glass are just $5 ($20 for a bottle), and a 16-ounce draft of Sapporo is just $4. As for the food, a four-piece Nigiri Set (chef’s choice) is just $4, and the gluten-free Camo Rolls (avocado, tataki yasai and cucumber topped with albacore, coho salmon and crispy kaiso), are delicious. We also tried the scrumptious flank steak with pan-seared mushrooms, crispy garlic and momiji XO sauce.

Dessert is not to be missed, and we tried them both. There was the Japanese version of a s’more and a Budino, a Japanese-style custard.

The restaurant itself is designed beautifully with intimate booths, wooden ceilings and a large sushi bar, in addition to its regular bar.
