Find Your Favorite Colorado Wines at Governor’s Cup

If you’re interested in finding out which Colorado wines are the best, check out the 2017 Colorado Wine Governor’s Cup Competition featuring 250 wines from 35 wineries from around the state.

They’re all judged by a panel of sommeliers, chefs, writers and wine experts from around the country. Highly acclaimed wine icon Warren Winiarski is returning to sit on this year’s panel, along with judges Linda Murphy, author of “American Wine: The Ultimate Companion;” and Doug Frost, a Kansas City author who is one of four people in the world to have achieved both titles of Master Sommelier and Master of Wine.

The Colorado Wine Industry Development Board will announce the winners of this year’s competition in July. The winning wines will be put into the Governor’s Cup Case, which is designed to highlight a dozen of the state’s top wines.

The public will have the opportunity to taste the winners of this year’s competition at the Governor’s Cup Case Tasting Event on August 3 at The History Colorado Center. Tickets are $45 for general admission and $75 for the VIP experience, which includes food prepared by Cafe Rendezvous and the chance to taste some previous winners.
